Developmental Editing
This service is a deep dive into all storytelling elements. It is an extensive process that includes in-line edits throughout your manuscript followed by a 10-30 page editor's letter full of suggestions about where your strengths/weaknesses are, and tips on how to elevate and polish your draft.

A chapter-by-chapter breakdown of the following as needed:
- Constructive feedback on big picture story elements.
- Organization and structure (will rearrange chapters, paragraphs, and sentences as needed).
- Strengths and weaknesses and how to elevate them.
- Consistency of pacing and flow. Will identify where pacing may be off and how to correct it.
- Vagueness in meaning or clarity regarding overall theme.
- Weaknesses in narrative voice, POV, and style.
- Events and details are in proper, logical order. Facts are factually accurate.
- Identifies plot holes and provides suggestions for how to bridge gaps.
- Character development critique- depth, consistency, and believability. Evaluates relationships between characters.
- Consistency of time, setting, and world-building details.
- Plot- overall quality and believability. Will identify inconsistencies and weaknesses.
- Dialogue flow, structure, clarity, and consistency.
- Formatting standards according to genre and industry standards.

Investment: $0.03 per word on drafts 150k or less. For larger manuscripts pricing is custom. Payment plans are available.

This is a strategic read-through and analysis of your novel without in-line edits. It includes a full read of your draft and a 10-30 page editor letter that suggests how to strengthen your story. This option is best for authors who are on a strict timeline or need a budget-friendly alternative to developmental editing.

- No in-line edits
- 10-30 page editor's letter
Comprehensive analysis of the following:
- Constructive feedback on big picture story elements.
- Plot- assesses overall quality and believability and will identify inconsistencies and weaknesses.
- Assessment of setting/ world-building details.
- Characters- analysis of characterization, identifies inconsistency in character voice, motivation, relationships, etc.
- Big picture: Identifies strengths/weaknesses and provides suggestions to help bridge the gaps
- Theme and message consistency
- Tone/Voice/POV consistency
- Organization/Structure weaknesses and how to fix them
